Bad Education

Bad Education was my first collaboration with Cory Finley, whose deft touch with dark satire makes this film so enjoyable.  The score is at one turn truly orchestral, with cues in the baroque, classical, and romantic styles.  But then, there are also minimalist cues that let you know something is amiss just under the very refined and polished surface.  One of my absolute favorite projects.

The score is an homage to great classical concert music, evoking the rigorous world of competitive academia, and its high level of training and discipline. But as this structured world begins to unravel in the film, the score also includes stark, Minimalist cues driven primarily by percussion.
